Outside Blogs

April 21, 2006

Well, I searched around for some Blogs, most of them I wasn't a big fan of. I checked out Mr. Lucas' blog, and I really liked his opinions. Some others I checked out, was one called FrogsPorn which basically was just an ad blog it seemed. It just had links to other pages. But I guess it would be a superb starting point if you were trying to get off. Another one, Boogie's Porn Blog was a mix between site advertising and things that he just wanted to randomly comment on. Although his most recent blog talked about Albert Gonzales and his Anti-Porn Agenda. But besides that there nothing too substantial on it. Most of what I found where just blogs that were supporting themselves, nothing that I could get any real decent information out of.

Q’s for Mr. Lucas

April 21, 2006

I have always wondered this: Do you think wearing condoms during porn films really makes an impact on the viewers of the films?

And, I've only recently learned about the Pitcher/Catcher aspect of gay sex, so I was wondering if you become branded into that your whole life.

C-Span: WORST CHANNEL EVER

April 19, 2006

I hate it when I post something, and then for some reason it doesn't work, so then I have to remember what i was writing about…

No wonder America's youth isn't interested in Politics, those people (our government) are so boring. I know that a job in that type of government isn't supposed to be glamorous, but holy cow! Could those people stand to have a little more excitement or happiness in their lives? And why are these folks to scared of pornography? They seemed like Pr0n was the downfall of society and that if it wasn't stopped immediatly, the world would implode.

Blanche Lincoln (D-Arkansas), to me, for a Democrat, is way to conservative. Her reaction to the "type of world we live in" makes me think that she just woke up from a 30 year nap. I can imagine this lady coddling her children until the age of 30, to aviod any sort of exposure to sex. She calls pornography a "danger" to children, and tells how this dangerous matierial can now be found the "confines" of our homes. Lady…why the heck is pornography so dang dangerous? Who cares if the average age of kids seeing porn for the first time on the internet is 11.5? Kids don't even know what to do with it, so what's the big deal? And why on earth are you, "scared to death" as you so eloquently put it? The level of these peoples insecurities boggles my mind.

Although these people were pretty boring to listen to, it was pretty informative about what the gov is trying to do to fend off these "dangers!" And I laughed my ass off when Sen. Conrad Burns from Iowa stared at the camera and just says "Mine's in the kitchen," and then he just looks around for 10 seconds. What a goofy dude.

Cyberporn in TIME

March 30, 2006

My girlfriend just told me that there is an article in TIME about cyberporn classes, and our class gets mentioned. I apologize if this is a repeat post from anyone else.

I Dig Em

March 30, 2006

Liz's Remarks is a blog that I enjoy reading. She usually rights a bunch of good stuff, quality information, and good length.

Doing the Porn Thing I agree with most of things this person talks about. So I guess having the same views isn't such a bad reason to like a blog. Lot's of information and well-written.

J-Hood I like the mix of humor with seriousness, I enjoy reading their opinions, and the posts are pretty consistant.

Oh, and a few more things. Oral sex isn't sex, they are jobs. And the "Friends with Benefits" theory is like Communism, good on paper but not in practice.

I NEED That Copier

March 30, 2006

Religion has been on my mind lately, and their opposition to things in everyday life. I’m not a religous man at all, and sometimes I just don’t understand what goes through some of these people’s heads. Always banning books, movies, tv shows…it seems a little unnessacary to me. And I apologize for generalizing, I know not every church or religion is this way. Some examples though of some ridiculous book bans: Where the Sidwalk Ends, To Kill a Mockingbird, Harry Potter, Brave New World, Huckelberry Finn, Tom Sawyer, Ulysses; I mean the list goes on. All of those books mentioned are classics that certain religous groups fight against. Now pornography I can understand religious groups fighting against, I mean, talk about something that is completely against all of their values and that is it. But yet they are fighting a war they can’t win; until the 1st Amendment gets overturned, which is when i leave the country. Case and point with Larry Flynt. Jerry Falwell already went down this path, and lost in the Supreme Court. Technically the dispute wasn’t over actual Hustler images but a fake ad in which Flynt bashed Falwell for losing his virginity to his mother. The issue was brought up in the whole process, but Falwell’s crusade against pornography ended in his embarrassment. To quote the movie, “If the First Amendment can protect a scumbag like me, then it will protect all of you…becuase I’m the worst.”

Pornography or sexuality is everywhere in America. Porn stars are in fact big stars, Jenna Jameson of course being extremely popular these days. It has been acceptable for hot, new actresses to pose in Playboy; although somewhat mild, they are still naked and showing themselves to the world. But also we just are a sexually driven society, I mean this is pretty clear, no argument, just turn on your tv for more than 5 minutes. So why are religous groups marching on Desperate Housewives, one the most popular shows this year? I just don’t get it sometimes, probobly due to the fact that my parents grew me up with hippie love. But, I will go buy that copier tomarrow, that’s for sure!

New Age of Porn?

March 27, 2006

I wanted to comment a little bit about PinkPrincess's post, Porn To Go.
When I read her post, I honestly wasn't very surprised to hear that
iPod was going in that direction. It seems like the natural
progression. There was another technolagy that I wanted to add to the
mix. You know how now everybody can download almost every song onto
their phone, and with V-cast you can watch tv shows and maybe movies
(not sure about that)? Well, I read an article (for the life of me I
can't remember where it was printed) that talked about the unstoppable
future of cell-phone porn. It talked about how the technolagy is there,
the only thing stopping it is the cell-phone companies themselves.
Eventually one of those companies is going to fold to the industry, and
once that one company does…follow the leader I suppose.

So
what does that mean? Well it means that pornography is going to be way
too accessible. How is this going to filter out young kids that aren't
allowed to view the material? I know that when i was a kid and I went
to a website, I just clicked on the "Yes, I am 18" button, and that was
that. And on the topic of arrousal, will watching porn on your phone in
public start the rise in public masturbation? I mean, do we really need
porn at all times? Definitly not. Will this stop the industry?
Definitely not!

Poor Ol’ Pete

March 23, 2006

After watching Lecture 19, it brought me back to the day I learned about Pete Townsend’s child pornography charge. I remember being extremely dissapointed, because The Who is one of my favorite bands, and that kind of charge isn’t as glamorous of a charge of let’s say, trashing a hotel room. Townsend’s defense was that he was doing research for a book. I am told by a friend who is also a Who fan, that Pete was molested as a child. I did some quick research, and found an interesting article in The Smoking Gun. Townsend was cleared 4 months after the initial investigation. Yet he agreed to be fingerprinted, and registered for five years in the Sex Offenders list. He wrote a 6 page article, which can be found at the above site, on how it was easy to find child porn on the web. As a huge fan of his music, I hope and believe his story, becuase I hate to see my heroes fall. Child pornography is such a disgusting thought to me, that I could dismiss him in an instant if it were ever to be proven true. Anyhow, it’s an interesting piece that I think you guys should check out.

Grade my Blog…oops

March 3, 2006

As I looked at Week 7′s assignment to grade my own blog, I have come to the conclusion that it is pretty bad. I say this becuase, I forgot that I was taking an online course, so the fact that I havn’t posted in about a month: is pretty horrible. I believe honesty is the best policy, and I admit I’m a moron. I think after a couple of weeks of being too busy to think about blogging, it just left my mind. This happens to me a lot, as an example of taking mid-terms on days I just happen to attend class (this week). Luckily I was listening to 97 Rock this morning, where Norton had a Sex Therapist on the show. As soon as I heard her ask, “Are you addicted to Porn?” it clicked. So I apologize to Professor Halavais, and to the class for not giving my input.

Timestamp for blogs

January 30, 2006

I just thought I would let people know of the problem i encountered. I noticed that my posts weren’t coming up at the same time that i posted them, making them hard for me to find. If you go to Options in your blogsite, you need to make sure that (at least for me) that the time is -5 hours from what the UTC time is. Mine was originally set at 0, and after i changed it, and re-added myself to the aggregater, i was all set, and my blogs showed up again. Just in case anyone else had this problem
